Student: Roman Ganchenko, group 423L, Faculty of Logistics

3. Supervisor: Professor Alexander Mishenko

4. Key words: reverse flows, reverse logistics, improvement, handling of non-conditional stock

Along with the existence of the forward flows of goods and materials, the reverse flows take place in supply chain too. When companies deal with questions of faulty products, overdelivery, lack of demand, false sales forecast or with reuse, refurbish, and recycle process they experience a need in returning the goods back to the supplier or to a production/trade company . In order to cope with the problem it is necessary to implement reverse flows and, in some cases, to develop a reverse logistic strategy.

While main (forward) flows are developed well enough and get managers’ support and control, reverse flows are usually overlooked. Such inattention to reverse logistics may lead to different troubles, such as lack of warehousing space, huge warehousing loses or deterioration of relations with partners.

5.
