Some Regularities in the Formation of Couples

<p align="JUSTIFY" style="page-break-inside: avoid; widows: 8"><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font size="4"><span lang="en-US">As it was noted by demographers, the current demographic situation in the developed world is characterized not only by low</span><span lang="en-US"><b> </b></span><span lang="en-US">fertility rate (below reproduction level), but also by a change in marital behavior.</span></font></font></p><p align="JUSTIFY" lang="en-US" style="page-break-inside: avoid; widows: 8"><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font size="4">In particular, there is an increase in marriage age, in divorce rates, optionality in cohabitation of spouses as well as registration of couples living together, the growing number of children who were not born in registered marriages. </font></font></p><p align="JUSTIFY" style="page-break-inside: avoid; widows: 8"><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font size="4"><span lang="en-US">Besides</span><span lang="en-US"> demographers, </span><span lang="en-US">mechanisms of forming a marriage union and its breaking up were attracting attention of sociologists, psychologists, economists.</span><span lang="en-US"> </span><span lang="en-US">This interest was related to reasons for marriage and partner search patterns, determination of the age of marriage, marriage stability factors. In addition to research interest, some of these questions are relevant because of the need to develop social policies for the stability of the family and the birth of children.</span></font></font></p><p align="JUSTIFY" style="page-break-inside: avoid; widows: 8"><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font size="4"><span lang="en-US">Change in marital behavior bring up the question not only to study these processes at the macro level, in terms of</span><span lang="en-US"> </span><span lang="en-US">classification of the various types of marriages, assessing the trends of marriages, influence of country and national macro rate on marriage level, but also to research at the micro level, the need to identify on individual level determinants of getting married and determinant of selecting marriage partners.</span></font></font></p>
