The Influence of the Cultural Revolution on Qiu Shengxian Works

Theme of present diploma paper is “The Influence of the Cultural Revolution on Qiu Shengxian Works“. The main purpose is to identify images and forms of cultural revolution, which depicted in Qiu Shengxian works. Relevance of this work depends on following fact: due to a detailed study of works of art, which belong to defined period, we can more fully assess the impact and consequences of that period of time. In first chapter we consider the way of Chinese art transformation in XX – XXI centuries, the changes caused by the cultural revolution and following period of Reform and Opening up. And, moreover, Chinese art’s vectors of development. Second chapter considers peculiarities of Qui Shengxian’s artistic style, and also specific features of his paintings. We classify the pictures on the grounds of selection criteria, and it allows us to define pictures, which have most clearly demonstration of interaction forms between traditional and totalitarian cultures. More detailed analysis of artworks, which contents all of criteria, allows reveal the artist’s attitude to the period of collision between old and new cultures. This paper comprises 71 pages, including attachments.
