Market Research of Automotive Components in Russia in Order Todetermine Directions of their Import

In this paper we consider one of the key issues for competitiveness and development of the Russian automotive industry. This problem is related to issues of import substitution component base for automakers. Demand for Russian automotive components is stimulated by public sector support measures. However, experience has shown that both foreign and domestic automakers assemble vehicles in Russia can’t find suppliers of high-quality automotive component base in the domestic market. The purpose of this work: to investigate the practice of primary import of auto components and car production in Russia to question its feasibility, identify the potentially most attractive areas of import substitution in the automotive industry. As the research methods were used: • Analysis of the statistics on the automotive market and the Russian market of automotive components • Expert interviews with leading specialists of the automotive industry of the Russian Federation • Analysis of internal information of production car companies The results of the study on the factors of the industry development of automotive components in Russia. We have prepared recommendations for manufacturers of automotive components for the organization of production and the most promising areas in the field of importsubstitution of auto components. Expert survey results allow us to determine the direction of the base component manufacturers, their integration with the Russian and foreign car factories.
