Rent and Life Maintenance with a Dependence in the Civil Law of the Russian Federation

Significant economic and social transformation in the Russian Federation of the 1990s reviled that the civil law bodies also required several crucial alterations, which would contribute to satisfaction of primary needs of a wide range of people especially among the indigent. The alteration of a particular importance affected the institution of life maintenance with dependency. In the USSR, this institution was represented as just a variation of sale and purchase agreement and did not provide the problem solution. Lately the contract of life maintenance with dependency became the most popular type of annuity agreement. The importance of the contract of life maintenance with dependency can not be underestimated, due to its role in the governmental social policy. The aforementioned contract solves the problems of social welfare for the elderly people and the disabled, who are capable of maintaining neither labour nor entrepreneurial activity because of their age and health state. This research is devoted to institute providing the rent and life maintenance with a dependence in the civil law of the Russian Federation. The author deals with both the theoretical and practical aspects of it. The paper discusses the nature of the rent and life maintenance with a dependence, the basic principles and the fundamental terms of this contract. In more detail, it deals with the contents of the contract structure, as well as with relations in the contracts sector on the world stage. The author suggests ways of improving the legal regulation in this area.
