Compulsory Medical Insurance in the Russian Federation – Regulatory Framework

This study is an attempt to elucidate the institute of compulsory medical insurance in the Russian Federation. By examining federal and regional legislation and doctrinal sources, the author allocates the basic definitions, principles, significance and results of compulsory medical insurance. In this regard, the author dwells on the advantages and drawbacks of compulsory medical insurance. Also, the study contains opinions of Russian citizens, which reflect their attitude to compulsory medical insurance, and points the doctors make about the efficiency of medical insurance. Finally, possible ways of resolving some problems in this scope are covered.
