The present paper describes a study that will seek to explore distinctive features of Russian medieval features of legal proceeding. Analysis will be focused on the comparison of Russian legislation in 14th – 17th centuries with real practices of court trial, which is represented by the right charters. This study allows to conduct the history of Russian medieval trial in details and to identify the patterns of common law, which are not fixed by legislation.
