Development of a Situation Macroeconomic Model for Scenario Forecasting Support

The author studied the influence of world prices for gas and basic transport and communication assets (infrastructure) on the Russian economy and the gross domestic product for the period from 1990 to 2012. In his study, the author relies on the articles authored by Makarov VL, Afanasiev AA, Losev AA, Ponomareva OS and others. To explore the production function of the Russian Federation author used regression analysis and ex-post forecasts. The study is based on data by Rosstat, World Bank, Russian Economic Barometer. The results confirmed the hypothesis of the decisive role of energy prices and the infrastructure on the Russian economy.
