Digitisation and its Influence on the Business-model (the Case of Publishing Industry)

Due to the financial collapse of the world newspaper industry, the leadership of publishing companies are in a hurry to find new revenue generation models, or change their full business model. The purpose of this paper is to research the business model design and change management methods, so that publishing companies facing losses due to the falling of print circulation numbers and advertising revenues could use it to transform their business models and integrate fully into the new digital era. For this, the previous literature on business models and transformation of newspaper companies was reviewed. Also the implication of foreign experiences into the Russian newspaper companies was tested. Key words: business models, value creation, digitalization, newspaper industry
