For my research I have chosen one of the most popular TV show in the USA which declares that it is ok to fight for your rights, express your own opinion and do what, first of all, is better for you. Thus, I consider the Construction of "normal” woman image in TV Show "Girls". In several past years it has become a common tradition in academic area to refer to last products of mass-media. Nevertheless, we still can notice that film discussion is being taken more seriously and respectfully than series discussion. This topic is still under-reflected in the scientific field. The problem which I will study is what features of women are presented in this show as some kind of standard, norm and are being understood by viewers as normal as well. This study can be useful for journalists, sociologists, directors, producers and women in general. Considering this show it is vital to take into account not only the content but also the production. Initially the creator of it is a 29-year old Lena Dunham. Beside that she also directs and plays the main character in “GIRLS”. Moreover, today she is one of the most famous and respectful feminist in the world. There are 2 types of methods I will use: empirical and theoretical. Empirical methods include analysis of series and interviews with authors of the show transcript. Theoretical methods include narrativeanalysis, analysis of structure, historical and comparative analysis.
