Intra-family Transfer of Values Between Parents and Children

In this work was carried out a quantitative study on the process of intra-family values between parents and children. To answer the main question: "How is the translation of values and what values parents want to translate to their children?" Participants were 84 family triads - the graduates of the St. Petersburg school and both of their parents. It is conducting a survey on the methodology of basic values Shalom Schwartz to study the value orientations of the individual. The main mechanism for the transfer of values recognized intergenerational change of values in the theory of R. Inglehart. Hypothesizes checked identifying the relationship between the individual stages of the transmission of values. The main results showed a weak link broadcast of values within the family in St. Petersburg. The results were compared with a similar study in Moscow.
