Wage Formation In Russia: The Case Of Saint Petersburg And Moscow

The mechanism of wages formation was changes in Russia Since the transition to a market economy. So far there is no single approach that could describe all applicable principles of wages formation in the Russian labor market. In the paper was described the existing mechanisms of wage formation on the example of St.-Petersburg and Moscow. An initial review showed the diversity of approaches and mechanism of wage formation in the organizations. Many existing approaches of wage formation was taken from the foreign practice and adapted to the Russian labor market. However, in the paper we assume that despite the diversity of approaches to the wages formation, they can identify common mechanisms. Also explore the differences in the ratio of tariff and over-tariff part of the salary for engineering and technical personnel and workers.
