This research is dedicated to the art of Catalan painters of the period starting from 1910 and until the beginning of 1930s. It is built around three big names in the Catalan painting of the first quarter of the XX century, they are Joaquín Torres García, Joaquim Sunyer and Josep de Togores. Certainly, the art in Catalonia at that period of time does not limit itself to those three names, but they all have something in common: they all started as noucentista artists. However, the art of each of them experienced certain stylistic transformations which signify the diversity in the artistic life in Catalonia at that period. The subject of this research are the peculiarities of the artistic language of these painters and the influence which they experienced upon them. This research drives to a certain conclusion: noucentisme allowed its artists to develop in various styles - from avant-garde to surrealism.
