Logistics Company Effectiveness Improvement: Case Study of LLC "GLOVIS RUS"

The purpose of the diploma is to develop recommendations for optimizing the delivery of cargo for the logistics company «Glovis Rus» LLC. This goal covers the following tasks: to examine the concept of the logistics system and its types; compare the different ways of delivery and kinds of transport in multimodal transportation; to identify approaches to the choice of kind of transport, the carrier and the cargo delivery schemes; to analyze the company «Glovis Rus» LLC and the business process of delivery; to simulate delivery process by network planning method; to analyze the economic efficiency of the proposed recommendations and to determine the best option for cargo delivery; to choose maritime line and logistics intermediary for the delivery of cargo from the port of Gwangyang to St. Petersburg. The diploma includes introduction, three chapters and conclusion. The first chapter deals with the theoretical foundations of the cargo delivery in the supply chain. The second chapter analyzes the activities of the company "Glovis Rus» LLC and one of the key business processes. In the third chapter the efficiency of using different schemes of cargo delivery with the use of several types of transport is evaluated, maritime line and carrier are selected, as well as recommendations for optimization of delivery are obtained.
