Analysis of the Export Potential of the Russian Economy

This paper contributes to the debate on the exports and the Russian international trade relations. The study advances our understanding of the export potential with a strong focus on the macro-economic indicators and components and includes review of the literature on the foreign trade and existing methodology for the export potential analysis, particularly a careful examination of the Hausmann method and the gravity model, which was further exposed to the concept of international trade relations development and to the identification of the main directions of diversification of the Russian exports industrial structure.
