Organizational Context of Dental Practice in Russia: Sociological Analysis (Moscow and Krasnodar Cases)

The development of a market economic system has led to a transformation in all spheres of public life, but the most profound processes covered such socially important areas as health care. For more than a quarter of a century of Russian medicine market has gone through a number of reforms that have affected the funding mechanisms for industry, distribution and use of its resources, security and other issues system. In several industries, including dental, these processes were particularly intensive. Wide network of commercial structures with different organizational and legal forms of business and ownership structure was formed; extended range provided by state and local government agencies of services, including due to the partial commercialization activities. Today, any patient has had an opportunity of free choice of dentist, hospital, payment forms of treatment. On the market there was a competition of dental services, which had a favorable impact on the quality of dental care.
