The goal of our study was to explore the aspects of domestic violence against women in the Russian Federation on the example of a specific research - national survey "Reproductive health of the population of Russia 2011" (RHPR 2011), as well as to evaluate efforts at the state level measures aimed at addressing the problem of domestic violence. For achieving this goal the following tasks were set: to assess the prevalence of violence against women by their partners in the Russian Federation according to RHPR 2011 and to identify socio-demographic factors of victimization, to compare the obtained results with the results obtained according to the results of European studies 2013, as well as to perform state policy of Russia on the prevention of domestic violence. As methods of analysis were chosen statistical methods, the work was performed in the statistical package SPSS. According to the results of the study was found: 1. In the course of life in Russia 37.9% of women subjected to verbal violence, 19,6% - to physical violence and 3,8% - to sexual violence. Similar indicators for EU countries account for 43%, 22% and 5%, respectively. That doesn't confirm the opinion of Russian experts on gender issues on superiority of Russia among the developed countries in terms of domestic violence. 2. The main socio-demographic risk factors are: age, number of children, the number of concluded marriages of the woman, educational level, consumption of alcohol partner, experienced in childhood experience domestic violence. 3. The lack of adequate statistics and normative-legal act regulating the problem area make difficult to realization international targets to eradicate violence against women.
