Professional Networks of Russian Political Elite in 2000-2012

The paper presents an empirical analysis of the transformations of the network of Russian political elite in 2000-2012 illustrated with the examples of Ministry of foreign affairs, Ministry of finance and Ministry of justice networks, based on the professional biographies of the members. Empirical results show that the network structures tend to remain stable even in the years with low survival rate of the elite which may implicate that the structural effect occurs. Moreover two of the ministries demonstrated a change within what one may call a recruitment principle which is also more of a structural than an individual effect
