Women in Martial Arts: Research of Life Stories and Experiences of Sportswomen

This dissertation is based on an investigation of the lives of various women athletes, who were in different kinds of martial arts. The objective of this study is to understand their motivations for choosing this type of sports. The investigation consisted of 11 interviews with the athletes. The dissertation has a preface, two chapters, a conclusion and a list of references. The introduction covers the relevance of the selected topic. It formulates the objective and the tasks. The first chapter describes the basic theory, handles the psychology of women and reviews Russian literature on sports psychology. The second chapter covers the method of conducting the interviews, describes and analyzes the results of the study.
