Improving Inventory Management System in the Context of Manufacturing Company "ExxonMobil"

The purpose of the graduation thesis is to improve the inventory management system of the company "Mobil Oil Lubricants". The objectives are: to analyze the economic and logistics activities of the company and to identify existing problems in the inventory management system, the analysis of the theoretical aspects of inventory management and solving method, the development of areas to improve inventory management system, application of the model of strategic profit to justify the economic feasibility of the developed activities. During the analysis of logistics activity of the enterprise the following problems were identified: lack of sales forecast accuracy, including the absence of the necessary level of safety stock. The object of the research is the manufacturing company " Mobil Oil Lubricants ". The following guidelines have been developed: carrying ABC - analysis for all of the SKU positions of motor oils to identify priority product groups to improve the accuracy requirements planning, the calculation of inventory management model and the EOQ for the highest priority groups, the implementation of new organizational logistics management structure. We prove the economic feasibility of the practical application of the proposed recommendations. As a result, return on equity in the strategic profit model has increased by 11.9 %. 4.
