Improvement of Spare Parts Management System Based on SCOR-Model Application

The development of high-tech medical equipment market and continuous improvement of medical technologies is a result of growing share of the aging population and chronic diseases. In this situation, companies of high-tech medical equipment segment should not only create innovative medical devices, but also organize an effective after-sale maintenance of equipment. The highest priority of after-sales maintenance in terms of logistics is to ensure the availability of spare parts at the right time to carry out scheduled and unscheduled repairs. The object of the final thesis is "Customer service center" of "Healthcare" business-unit in international trading company operating in the Russian medical equipment market. The subject of the paper is spare parts management via the SCOR-model. The purpose of this final qualifying work is to improve the spare parts management using supply chain reference model. Supply chain analysis by the SCOR-model has identified problems with the spare parts’ inventory planning, which has a negative impact on the availability of goods in a warehouse in Russia. In order to solve the specified issues it is asked to review the spare parts’ inventory planning process for the Russian market and streamline inventory management process as a whole. As well, the solution for transportation costs decrease associated with unreasonably high tariffs of freight forwarder is suggested. Volume of final thesis: number of pages - 120, number of figures - 31, number of tables - 20, references – 32.
