Why do Households Borrow? Factors, Affecting Households Decision to Take Personal Loans

The purpose of the paper is to reveal non-interest rate factors, affecting Russian households decisions of taking personal loan. Two large samples of respondents in 2014 and 2015 are used for the analysis. Logistic regression is a fundamental tool to analyze potential relations.Results indicate that among chosen factors marital status, gender, age, year of the sample and presence of savings and banking plastic cards are the factors that can trigger households decisions.
