Today the study of subjective economic well-being becomes relevant from the point of view of political science. Factors and causal mechanisms for objective economic indicators are well-developed, while subjective indicators remain relatively understudied despite the increasing interest of the research community. This paper is devoted to the testing of the relationship between subjective economic well-being and social policy in Europe. The empirical analysis conducted reveals sustainable significant positive effect of social policy on subjective economic well-being. The closer examination of social policy regimes demonstrates significance of institutional structures: the mutual effect of social policy and social capital differs in various welfare regimes.
