In modern globalized world, where we can see active intensification of immigration flows, it is really important to address processes, connected with integration of large numbers of immigrants into the society of countries of arrival. One of such means of integration is multiculturalism, which principles are used in Canada and USA. It is necessary to point out, that despite the fact, that these countries have similar geographic position, ethnic diversity and history of migration, Canada is doing better in terms of implementing of multiculturalism policy. That is why, we will conduct a comparative analysis of two cases, in order to understand key factors, that affect the success of multiculturalism in different countries. This work will contribute not only to theory of multiculturalism, but also will be useful for practical purposes of countries, that face ethnic diversity. Key words: multiculturalism, immigration, integration, ethnic diversity, Canada, USA.
