The Narrative Worlds in Zuihitsu and J.L. Borges’ Fiction

In this research on the topic of the narrative worlds in zuihitsu and Borges’ novels we aim to compare space and time categories in zuihitsu by Sei Shonagon and novel collection “Fictions” by Borges. Zuihitsu were chosen as works that show noticeable similarities in terms of structure with magical realism works. Time and space categories are determinants of text composition, structure. Thus, we hope this work will be the basis for further research on zuihitsu and magical realism in terms of their structure. The research has 65 pages and consists of introduction, three chapters and conclusion. In introduction relevance of the topic, an object and a subject of the research are defined, literature review on the topic is provided, an aim and tasks of the research, methods are pointed out. In first chapter the definition problems of zuihitsu as literature genre and magical realism as literature mode are covered. In second chapter the basic time models and their features implemented in zuihitsu by Sei Shonagon and Borges’ novels are described. In third chapter space models and correlation between time and space categories are examined. In the last part of the work conclusions are provided.
