The article analyses the role of political visual memes in the modern mass media. It outlines main concepts of Internet memes and gives it a working definition. The author stresses the main reasons why political memes make notable influence on people. This work represents basic information about scientific researches and developments in this area. The proposal is intended for a wide range of readers and those who are interested in mass communications.
