Corporate and Social Responsibility of Transnational Corporations in Mining Industry

Despite the fact that the very essence of doing business has always been to make profit, for decades businessmen were making significant contributions to social purposes. With the active development of international trade and production techniques there is a need to evaluate and understand the concept of CSR in an absolutely new context. This phenomenon is especially important for mining companies. In this paper, the following topics will be analysed: theoretical framework of CSR, its specifics in the mining sector, both for international and Russian companies. The relationship between investments in CSR and shares of Russian companies was also assessed.
