Self-Organization of Citizens in Protest Groups in Russia: the Motivation of the Participants of the Movement in Defense of the Rimsky-Korsakov Music School

This work is devoted to the study of self-organization of citizens in protest groups on the example of the participants of the movement in defense of the Rimsky-Korsakov Music School. The purpose of the work was to trace the dynamics of the development of this protest group and to study the structure, tactics and resources of the protest, used by the participants to achieve their goals. The empirical part of the study is based on ten semi-structured interviews with activists of this movement and on the results of the included observation. According to the results of the study, there are three stages of self-organization of the movement under study were identified, each of which has its certain resources and tactics of protest actions.
