The link between inequality and structural changes in the composition of labor has been mention in the literature (Aizenman et al., 2012) but there are few attempts of quantifying it. In this thesis with the help of cluster analysis for Russian regions for the period of time 2004-2015 it was established that the correlation between these phenomena could vary from -0.5495 to 0.4667 which implies that there is no unified answer on a country level about what kind of policy would allow to mitigate the negative effect structural changes could have on inequality.
