Student: Gryzlova Tatyana

Supervisor: Vladimir Kantor

Faculty: Faculty of Humanities

Educational Programme: Philosophy (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2017

In the XXth century the theme of love is replaced by the psychology of sexuality, love loses its metaphysical meaning. In this situation, the appeal to metaphysical concepts of love can cause scientific interest. The aim of this work is to reveal the metaphysical meaning of love in F. M. Dostoevsky's philosophy, through consideration of its essential characteristics. The text shows how the concept of "absolute love" in Dostoevsky's prose overcomes the laws of the earthly world: 1) the law of death 2) the law of gender 3) selfishness, or the law of personality.
