In this paper Russian and American practices of startups government support are analyzed in the period 2012-1016. The target of this paper is to form the pull of recommendations to improve Russian system of startup government support. Taking into consideration the target the following questions were answered: 1. The features of government support in the sphere of innovations 2. The features of startup government support in Russia 3. The features of startup government support in the US 4. Highlited the problems of Russian system 5. Figures out the relevant American practices that will be useful for Russian system The methodology that was used in this paper is the institutionalism of rational choice by R. Kalvert. The used Methods: case study, comparative analysis Taking into consideration the analysis of Russian startup government support and its comparison to American system the recommendations were drawn out.
