Statistical Analysis of Factors Influencing Child Malnutrition in Africa

Current research is devoted to the statistical analysis of factors influencing child malnutrition in Africa. The relevance of this research is beyond controversy as Africa is one of the regions with extremely high prevalence of child malnutrition, and many countries show an absolute increase in the number of people suffering from this problem. The paper gives a general description of the socio-economic situation of African countries in clusters and shows the dynamics of the main indicators of food security. The prevalence of anemia among children under five was chosen as an indicator of child malnutrition. The relation between factors was analyzed by the model of Panel Cointegration. Long-term model and error correction model for estimation of short-term interrelation were built. Using time series data of Ghana on child malnutrition ARIMA model was built for the analysis of further dynamic.
