Media and Voters: the influence of Information on Electoral Integrity on Voter Turnout

This thesis is devoted to the study of how information influences electoral turnout. Based on the materials of two electoral cycles: Russian presidential election of 2012 and the State Duma elections of 2016. The purpose of the paper is to answer the question whether the expectation of fraud affects electoral turnout. The empirical analysis is based on the linear regression method (OLS). It has been found out that expectations decrease electoral turnout at the legislative elections, however there is no effect for the executive elections.
