This paper is devoted to the study of the relationship between resistance to projects and the socio-psychological project team characteristics associated with relation to time, for example, the oil and gas industry. As a result of this study, the determinants of a positive emotional, positive cognitive and positive behavioral attitude to sustainable development were identified, as well as the fact of the existence of three types of relations to sustainable development (positive, negative and declarative) was revealed. The latter type presents the greatest threat because it can be mistakenly perceived as positive, but at the same time employees with an attitude of this type in practice resist the projects of sustainable development. As a result of this study, it is proved that the type of attitude towards sustainable development can be assumed on the basis of a test that will reveal the perceived past, the depth of the subjective past and the respondent's tolerance to uncertainty Based on the latest findings, recommendations are formulated to assist projects of sustainable development in the company.
