The Impact of Private Equity Funds on the Performance of Portfolio Companies in Russia

The current research provides comprehensive literature review and empirical results of impact of Private Equity funds on performance of their portfolio companies in Russia. Existing studies covering different countries, time periods and types of Private Equity transactions are reviewed. Key methodologies used in the considered field of research are described and compared. Aside from impact of Private Equity funds on performance of their portfolio companies, several other subtopics such as performance during crisis and differences between industries are analyzed. Empirical results are based on the analysis of the sample of 784 Russian companies (151 PE-backed and peer group of 633 companies) during 2004-2015.
