Master thesis of Galina Katsnelson The Stages of Formation of Kurosawa’s Film Characters is dedicated to the one of the main problem of the creative works of Japanese director. The author explores the process of formation of the characters, emphasize the stages of formation of the characters: spiritual transformation under the influence of the mentor, women and life circumstances; clash with evil and moral choice of the characters; readiness to self-sacrifice in the films The Genius of Judo; Seven Samurai; Red Beard; To Live; The Shadow Warrior; The Bad Sleep Well; High and Low.
