Software Development of Individual Computer System for 3D Scanning

Student: Krol Leonid

Supervisor: Nadejda Konstantinovna Trubochkina

Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Information Science and Computation Technology (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 7

Year of Graduation: 2017

The aim of the work: The task is to design a 3D scanner and describe the principle of its operation, as well as the algorithms of its operation. The subtasks set in the work: To familiarize with existing solutions in the field of 3D scanning. Select the hardware platform for the scanner being developed. Describe the algorithms for the 3D scanner. Calculate errors and limitations. Results: A mathematical model of the scanner was built. The algorithms of scanning and operation of scanner were written. Errors were identified, as well as limitations of the scanner. Recommendations proposed on the basis of this work: This scanner has a static platform, which makes its use uncomfortable in narrow spaces. If the platform on which the scanner is installed rotates not only in the horizontal plane, this will increase productivity. The use of cameras also allows you to add the texture of a real prototype to a virtual model, which was not actualized in this project.
