The theme of my visual research is "Wedding Suits of Different Peoples of the World". I decided to study this topic in order to get acquainted more closely with the symbols of costumes of different nationalities, as well as to find out what influenced the choice of wedding dresses today. The main part of my visual research is a series of photos depicting newlyweds in national wedding suits. Snapshots were selected in order to find as early as possible the imprint of what the newlyweds looked like. There are also photos showing how traditional costumes are interpreted today. In the course of the study, it was found that the components of the wedding image of all peoples are the same, the only difference is how it looks. The main components for those marrying, for any nationality, are: love and "fertility", wealth and prosperity, "protection from evil spirits and evil eye". Most often, in order to avoid the evil eye, the bride covers the head with a cloth or completely covers the face with a cloth; Wealth is lured by sewing on costumes young coins, whose ringing also scares off evil spirits; For happiness in family life most often corresponds to the color of the costumes. Today, newlyweds of almost all nations choose the image of a "white dress of the bride, a black suit of the groom". Each element of the traditional costume had its own meaning, its significance, but over time the costume began to change, and, accordingly, the meaning shifted to a new element. It is interesting that the vision of beauty in all peoples is different, but white dress was loved by so many peoples, even in those where white color denoted mourning. So, the borders are erased, and we choose what we are interested in, what is worn in other countries, without delving into meaning, and this applies not only to costumes, but also to traditions. Over time, all peoples will have the same association with the word "wedding", but it's good or bad, we'll find out in the future.
