The relevance of this study is the existence of unused opportunities and growth reserves in the Russian management consulting market. The purpose of the work is to identify and describe the most perspective niches on the management consulting market in the Volga Federal District of the Russian Federation. Authors conducted the theoretical review of «strategic opportunities» and «management consulting», the analysis of a current situation and research with using the methodology of competitive analysis. The novelty of the work is identifying previously unrepresented strategic opportunities on the management consulting market in the Volga Federal District, which can be used by consulting companies for the formation of an organization development strategy and the implementation of these actions in practice.
