Today the market is undergoing dynamic changes, and companies need to demonstrate a very high ability to adapt to new conditions. One of the ways of adapting companies can be the improvement of business models. The thesis considers megatrends and internal factors, under the influence of which there is a transformation at the level of construction companies, and then the construction sector itself. The identification of new necessary competencies for the improvement of business models will be based on the practices of foreign construction companies. Orientation to foreign experience in this matter is necessary, since construction companies in the west have been operating successfully for quite a long time, when, as in the Russian Federation, the industry still needs some innovations.
