Predictors of Academic Procrastination

The present research is aimed at investigating the relationship between academic procrastination and a group of individual and external factors. The first stage of the research involved a number of questionnaires to measure participants’ motivation, self-efficacy and personal traits. In the second stage, participants were presented with an academic task in two different teaching styles. The hypothesis of the research is that teaching style with rigid deadlines and clear instructions will reduce academic procrastination in students. Further research in this area could be important in developing tools to prevent and overcome procrastination.
