The International Legal Regulation of Internment in Armed Conflicts

This graduate paper is aimed at analysis of the legal regulation of internment, its place among other types of deprivation of liberty in armed conflicts. The main objectives of the paper are: a) research the content of the definition of ‘’internment’’; b) research and analysis of the main legal sources of international law regulating this type of detention; c) comparative analysis of the categories of persons who may be interned; d) analysis of the principle of the lawfulness of internment; e) research the cases of internment during the ‘’war on terror’’; f) analysis of the internees’ rights and guarantees.
