One of directions for achieving this goal is to optimize the internal and external business-processes and to reduce total costs of carrying out its activities to improve the competitiveness of the logistics system. In this regard, automated transportation management systems provide wide opportunities to improve the efficiency of the transportation process and reduce the costs that are associated with this process in trade companies. The purpose of the Master's dissertation is to study the efficiency of the development for optimization of current transportation management process in the focused trade company using automated transportation management systems. This study provides a research of the activities of the large trade company and its information environment that supports the transportation management process, with identification of the main problems of this process. In the course of the work, the main directions for optimizing the transportation process were identified, as well as an evaluation of the development to improve the current process with the help of transportation management systems. In conclusion, there were made the evaluation of the efficiency from the proposed development in terms of transport logistics performance indicators and the overall economic effect of the proposed activities is derived.
