International legal mechanisms of protection of a foreign investor's rights and practice in their application in Russian Federation

In the present research, the author analyzes practice of use of international legal mechanisms of protection of a foreign investor's rights in Russian Federation. The author concludes, that there are three of such mechanisms that are necessary and applicable in Russian investment field: international investment arbitration under ICSID, bilateral investment protection agreements, and a special group of protective mechanisms labbeled by the author as the pseudo-international, namely, protective mechanisms established in foreign (in relation to a host state) legal systems. The author also describes proceedures of all of the above-stated protective mechanisms. Based on the results of the present research, the author concludes that there is a strong necessity in harmonization and integration of the above-stated international and pseudo international protective mechanisms in national legal system of Russian Federation.
