Educational Programme: Business Informatics (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2017

Graduation qualification work on the topic "Software Development Project Management" is a study aimed at modifying the existing project management business processes of company to improve the efficiency of the organization in this area and reduce costs. The relevance of this topic is confirmed, first of all, by the extremely low quality degree of the IT project management processes in small and medium-sized companies, which leads them to high costs, low product quality, and sometimes to liquidation of the enterprise. The work consists of three structural parts. The first chapter provides a theoretical justification for the study: it describes the main theoretical background of project management, features of the information technology projects, as well as a brief description of the investigated company. The second chapter describes the instrumental methods and means of solving the tasks: the author has concentrated on choosing suitable sources for the development of corporate standards, practical project management approaches and potentially useful tools suitable for the chosen subject area. The third chapter is devoted to the practical implementation of the previously described methods: it describes the current state of the project management processes in the company, identifies its main shortcomings, and proposes the author's solution for the modification. The result of this study is the general corporate standard of project management processes in "New Information Systems" LLC. The processes described in it successfully passed the stage of practical implementation and led to positive changes in activity of the organization. Thus, the decision summarizing the work confirms the importance of project management in the enterprise and can be used as a structural base for implementation in other companies with similar business models.
