Phenomenology of Consciousness and Unconscious in Terms of Yoga Theory and Practice (Exemplified by Alfred Ford's Biography)

This research thesis is composed of an introduction, two chapters (theoretical and empirical), conclusion, a list of references and an appendix. The introduction specifies the substantiation of the topic at issue, object and subject of the research as well as hypotheses, goals and tasks of the paper. The first chapter examines the structure of the psyche in accordance with psychoanalysis and yoga, describes the basics of yoga theory and practice, reflecting its psychological characteristics. The author carries out a comparative analysis of the yoga psychological aspects and psychoanalysis and engages in the review of the literature on the yoga psychology. The second chapter is dedicated to the life of Alfred Ford (great-grandson of Henry Ford), a businessman and philanthropist, practicing yoga for more than 40 years. The study is conducted on the material of his biography and personal interview with him.
