Improving the Efficiency of Transportation Management in the Case of an Industrial Company

The theme of the diploma project is “Improving the Efficiency of Transportation Management in the Case of an Industrial Company”. The object of research of the project is the department of logistics and customs in the company. The subject of the research is logistic activity of the company General Electric in the region of Russia and the CIS. The diploma project is presented on 92 pages, includes 20 tables, 30 figures, 10 applications, 26 literature sources. Keywords: transport logistics, TMS-systems, management of relationships with logistics providers. The thesis includes the introduction, 3 chapters and the conclusion. In the introduction, the relevance of the topic is substantiated, the goal of thesis project is set, the object and subject of research, tasks are determined. In the first chapter, the analysis of the economic activities of the LLC "GE Rus" was carried out: competitive advantage, product specifics, key financial indicators, description of the logistics activities of the company. Based on the analysis, the problems of the company's supply chain and directions for increasing efficiency in the problem areas were identified. The second chapter is devoted to the analysis of literature sources both Russian and foreign on this issue: an analysis of areas of improving the transportation management efficiency. Improving the process of interaction with carriers and the procedure for applying the information management systems of transportation (TMS-systems) were analysed. The third chapter is devoted to valuation of economic effectiveness of the proposed solutions to improve the efficiency of transportation management in the company GE: an assessment of the economic feasibility of implementing the TMS system in the long term and valuation of impact of changes in logistics providers management on the profitability of the entire company. In conclusion, the main results achieved in the course of the final qualification work were collected.
