Protection of Rights to Films and TV Series as Audiovisual Works on the Internet

In the research paper the author has discussed a number of issues related to the protection of rights to films and serials, as audiovisual works on the Internet. First of all author analyzed the judicial practice and legislation on the protection of rights to films and serials, as well as theoretical constructions devoted to these issues. The author analyzed the concepts of "film" and "series", and proposed changes in these concepts in the Russian legislation. The author analyzed ways of violating the rights to films and serials both in the entire Internet and in the Runet network. This work disclose the ways of jurisdictional and non-judicial protection of rights to films and serials in the Internet, and also suggests possible ways of developing Russian legislation to reduce the turnover of counterfeit works on the Internet.
