Actual Master dissertation discusses an increasing and emerging role of International Nongovernmental organizations (iNGO) in the development of peace-building activities in polyethnic societies. Actual paper focuses on the role of iNGO in conflict resolution and reconstruction in post-conflict period with an comparison of tools, activities, best practices used by Inter-State Organizations (UN, OSCE, etc) and iNGOs. iNGOs are relatively new actors in the peacekeeping process. However states, intergovernmental organizations delegate to humanitarian, human rights NGOs the role of peacemaker. As actors of peacekeeping NGOs develop new ways, new approaches to conflict resolution due to their growing link with international organizations. They can express the interests of local ethnic societies, defend their interests, promote independent expertise as think-tank and be an indicator of ethnic tension in societies.
