The Crisis of the Party System of Great Britain under the Influence of the “European Question”

Final qualification work is devoted to the study of the party political system of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland under the influence of the "European Question". The work describes step by step evolution of the influence of the relationship between Britain and Europe on operation process of the political party system, and further it also analyzes the correlation between of the British referendum in 2016 and its implications for the European Union. Along with the main objective of the study - the study of the transformation of "rigid" two-party system in the UK increasing the degree of involvement of countries in integration processes - their role is analyzed for the whole EU. Thesis is organized in the following manner: the first chapter is devoted to the study of the relationships between the initial processes of European integration and its influence on the party political system in the UK; the second and third chapter describe the current processes in the country, namely the preconditions of Brexit and its implications in the context of governance. In the result of this work, the author of the study comes to the following conclusions: first, the party political system the UK is now in a crisis, as Brexit has intensified all intra-party conflicts which have led to the dysfunction of the system at the level of the government. Secondly, the author has identified the correlations between events in the United Kingdom and the worsening crisis in Europe. Future general parliamentary elections will definitively answer the question whether the party-political system of the state will be reformed or not, and what is more define the further direction for the development of relations between the UK and the European Union.
